Larger yachts will have a number of satellite communication systems fitted that will need to be commissioned via the flag jurisdiction, with separate ID numbers for each service utilized and an accounting authority appointed for the collection and payment of charges billed.

Larger yachts will also have at least one EPIRB fitted and it is vital that correct details of the yacht and emergency contact are registered.
