Mini ISM for Red Ensign flags
Mini ISM is the small version of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code
It is designed for:
- All commercially registered red ensign vessels over 24m of loadline length and under 500 grt.
It is a mandatory requirement for commercial vessels since January 1st 2007.
- It must cover all on board policies and procedures in relation to the management and the safe operation of the vessel.
No requirementsare needed for an external annual audit or shore based inspection of the system.
Approval of the Mini ISM will be given by the MCA or the relevant flag state authority as part of the annual MCA coding survey. |
